INTRODUCING 'THE MANNA FAST

Another way to intercede for the Uyghur is what we like to call 'the manna fast'.

It reminds us of how God prepared the Israelites to walk humbly with Him;
"Don't forget how the LORD your God has led you through the desert for the past 40 years.  He wanted to find out if you were truly willing to obey him and    depend on him, so he made you go hungry.  Then he gave you manna, a kind of food that you and your ancestors had never even heard about.  The LORD was teaching you that people need more than food to live - they need every word that the LORD has spoken."  Deuteronomy 8:2-3

Today the majority of Uyghurs are so poor that their daily diet consists of only 'nan' (their version of manna) and tea. God may desire to humble them, but this has been going on for much more than 40 years.

If it is not a compromise to your health, we encourage you to consider spending a day or two during these three weeks doing the manna fast. Some have already decided to do it on the last day.

As you do, just eat plain bread (no toppings), plain tea or water to identify with the daily plight of most Uyghurs.  Imagine how it would be to have such a daily diet and ask God to teach us all how we need every Word of God to truly live!

Please feel free to share with us any insights you gain during your manna fast.
